A committee with Citizens Property Insurance approved a proposed rate increase for premiums by up to 11.3 percent. Citizens, which is backed by the state of Florida, drafted a report outlining proposed rate changes for homeowner, renters, condo unit, mobile home, vacation or rented property coverage.
