The software is great. The one star rating is for Amazon’s ridiculously high price. After purchasing Norton Internet Security 2009 from Amazon, I saw it in Office Max for $15 less. When I called Amazon customer service, they informed me that they didn’t offer price matching. I asked them if they could pull up my account to see how much I buy from Amazon but that didn’t matter. They stuck to their no price matching policy! In five years + shopping with Amazon, this is the most disappointing purchase. No customer appreciation here.

I’ve used the Norton products for years. Always a good value. I have been buying from Amazon for a couple years and everything has been fine… until now!
I am extremely disappointed with Amazon, regarding their bait and switch on the price. I bought Norton Internet Security through Amazon for $51.00. Three weeks later, Amazon advertised the product for $39.99. I requested a credit for the difference.
They told me the product was shipped from Galactico(who’s that?) - I would have to contact them. I contacted Galactico - they replied they offer no price guarantee; I could return the product, but I would have to pay return shipping and a restocking fee. Obviously, that would cost more than the price OVERCHARGE. They told me they don’t match Amamzon’s price. They ended their email with the ‘finger’ to me - “Have a Great Day”… nice. Avoid doing business with Galactico at all costs (pun intended). They will rip you off!
My point - I did business with Amazon. I ordered from Amazon. I don’t really care who they specified to ship the product. Most companies offer a 30 day price guarantee these days. Apparently, Amazon does not. Two years of my customer goodwill with Amazon has been ruined over $11.01. I will be very hesitant to do business with them again.

Good product - but I paid too much for it at Amazon.com. If I’d have waited another week or so - stores like Best Buy, Circuit City, Staples, etc. had the same product for considerably less with mail-in rebate offers.

I’m not kidding when I say avoid Symantec as your Anti-Virus provider. This is probably one of the absolute worst companies I’ve dealt with. VERY POOR support, and awful licensing structure. Worse, the myriad of useless web pages is not warming, to say the least. Good luck finding/activating your updates and upgrades.
I admit that I’m not the swiftest when it comes to Symantec’s solution, but I’ve had an easier time with Kaspersky, Sophos, Trend Micro, McAfee, AVG, F-PROT, avast, and Comodo. I’ve even had better experience with older Symantec products not even five years ago.
So, if you want an exercise in futility, give ‘em a go. Otherwise, save yourself some tears.
I will never buy another Norton/Symantec product again.

I’ve been working on and with computers for 24 years. Norton USED to be the best you could get. Not anymore!!! Norton slows down your computer and is EXTREMELY buggy! (think - printers and routers stop working) Their once stellar support now is virtually worthless. Once you’ve installed Norton, it’s almost like having a virus. You have to use a special tool to remove it and sometimes that doesn’t work. I’ve cleansed my systems forever of Norton and have helped several friends get their systems working again, too. It’s a shame. Norton was once the best. Now I wouldn’t use it if it were free.
