Jan 9, 2010. Just spent more than a hour trying to determine why my PC crashes when I click on the “contact preference” link on the registration screen (Windows Internet Explorer - Version 8 - starts, the TurboTax URL shows, then my PC crashes). This has occured 3-4 time. I worked with 3 different Turbo Tax “chat” people without getting a solution (the first was a smarta**). Never had this type problem before, and have been a Business Turbo Tax user for over 8 years. At Turbo Tax’s suggestion, I bypassed the registration screen and the software seems to work fine. However, I do not get to enter my “don’t contact me” preferences. Pleased with prior versions. PC with XP Pro (sp3).

Turbo Tax for businesses has saved me a lot of money for CPA work. It is pretty user friendly and sensibly priced. I have used Turbo Tax since it was created as well as Quicken and Quickbooks. What i like the most is the audit check and it walks you through the entire process whether you know about it or not and points out areas that could save money or that you may have forgotten to put in. It goes and gets all the forms required. You do not need the Publications. It also has a help drop down which explains the reason why for that particular form, etc. ONLY software I would use.

I used this for a couple of LLC’s that I am involved with. The return for each is pretty straight-forward and, therefore, not complex. It is still necessary that you understand what is involved in preparing your tax return. The program cannot do your thinking for you (attn.: Tim)
Importing from QuickBooks requires that you have defined your tax-line mapping properly before the import is started. This will enforce some discipline in your QB setup if you want to use this feature.
All in all, another fine Intuit product. I just wish it were free like last year.
